Gratitude Exercise

Set a timer for 10 minutes. During this time, list as many things are grateful for as possible. Focus on the simple pleasures: the warmth of the sun, a good cup of coffee, a supportive friend, a comfortable bed, your health, your opportunities. Don't censor yourself, write down everything that comes to mind, no matter how small. Focus on relationships you're thankful for. After the time is up, read through your list slowly. Feel the emotions of gratitude and appreciation. Journal about how this exercise makes you feel. How can you cultivate a mindset of gratitude throughout the day, even in the face of challenges? Remember Seneca's words, "He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has." How will you extend this feeling beyond this exercise?
